I love this time of year, I love singing along to the Christmas songs, and dressing in Christmas jumpers and being wrapped up cosy. Spending quality time with the family and making loads of memories to look back on in years to come.
This year is so not like any other, L this year we have a black cloud hanging over us L and things just don’t seem the same to me…. One minute I am in the festive mood then I’m down and can not be bothered with all the fuss. Cancer really does mess you up and is brill at playing mind games with you on a daily basis.
Over the past few days I have started to look at things different!! I have done a lot of reflecting on the past few months and have had the odd conversation with hubby. I’ve taken a step back and watched hubby and the kids!!! I’ve seen different emotions and I have seen them all getting on with things. Hubby for sure is looking forward to Christmas and trying his best to give the family a memorable one. As for the kids I cant explain how excited they all are to see what Santa has brought them all.
So yes my hubby has cancer and is currently going through chemo L but hell why should it stop us from having a good Christmas???? It’s taken me some time to think like this over this festive period, but something hubby has said has stuck in my head… It went something like … “yes there are going to be bad days but when we have good days lets make the most of them” As if you don’t then you are letting this c worded disease win!!!!!! OMG!!!! He is so right.. this disease is not going to beat us, we are going to make the most of the prolonged break from chemo and we are going to have a bloody good Christmas. Yes hubby gets tired early evening and wakes during the night, yes we are faced with chemo on the 3rd of January… but that is not going to stop me and my family making the most of spending time together and creating memories.
My last little darling finished school today for the Christmas holidays, my little goody goody. The other 3 decided they were not going in today as all they have been doing is watching dvd’s. So on that night I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for your continued support since starting my page and a massive Happy Christmas to each and everyone of you, I hope you all have a good one as we sure will in my house.
