We celebrated my daughter’s 16th birthday on Saturday evening with family and friends, i was hoping for a relaxed Sunday after a busy Saturday.Well that never happened as hubby had other ideas…
My hubby is a fan of VW’s, we currently have a T4 aka ‘The rust bucket’.. This works well as there is six of us in the family, not including two dogs and two cats. Well on the way to picking our daughters friend up, to then go on to the meal, the rust bucket decided it did not want to play. It would not make the journey to the restaurant. So we headed back home to pick my car up.
Thankfully on Friday hubby had been to see a new T4/Caravelle after he finished work. As much as this is a positive, the destination on the Caravelle is not. As hubby’s brother had come to visit for his niece’s meal and would be traveling home on the sunday, i was like bonus, you can go with your brother. The wishful thinking was short lived. ;-( There was no other option but for me to drive the car back home, i could not think of anything worse. Screaming and arguing kids in the back… oh the joys!!!
Sunday morning was a nightmare, as if it was not bad enough. I had told the youngest two the night before i was splitting them up in the car. Oh great, they remembered, this resulted in me sitting in the back of a 7 seater for over an hour. Colouring and entertaining a 7yr old, well i suppose on the upside there was no bloody arguing between them.
When we got there, hubby took what seemed forever signing paper. We eventually started on according to hubby a straight forward journey home. I had pulled the long straw and had the eldest two kids. 🙂 Daughter helped with directions for the first 5 minutes of the journey, then never heard a word from her. Son helped and spoke more or less the full journey, which was a bonus, as hubby has a tendency to sometimes put his foot down leaving me a few cars behind. However lucky at one point he stayed in front of me, as i would have ended going off on a slip road!!!
Well after a long and painful hour we made it home!! However there was still no time to chill. A quick cuppa after a horrible morning, pack a cool box and we was off out again. Surprisingly the little darlings was ok with this, shock horror. Even though the sun was not shining, we had to go and try the new caravelle out. The only way to do this is, to have a picnic at the beach. So a quick stop at Asda for a few bits then the beach it was. My children must be coming down with something, as they where all well behaved!! It was a lovely afternoon…
So after a busy day, what better way to eventually chill then to watch ‘Trolls’ !!! This is a good film, if your 7 year old who saw it at school on Friday keeps his mouth sealed and doe’s not tell you what happens at certain bits through out the film. Kids!!!!!!!!!!!
So for most of the day, something had hold of my children, as they was behaving. Shame this could not continue through and during bedtime!!!!!!
