Good afternoon all..
Children grow up far to quick… Ok mothers day was a short time ago, however taking my cards down made me take a step back and reflect on how my children are growing up in to kind and caring individuals. Yes they have their moments, they would not be kids if they did not have their moments that drive me up the wall. Yes they did have to be reminded that it was mother’s day.
This year i got spoilt not just with gifts but with love and appreciation from my four little darlings.. (hubby did good :-)) I’m thinking about framing their cards, so i can look at them and when they are driving me up the wall i can reflect back, and think they maybe driving me up the wall but they do appreciate me and i love them for who they are.
Like many mum’s I’m sure, i did make sunday dinner and sorted out the horrible looking plant pots in the garden that contained rather looking horrible seen better days plants. However i completed less then charming chore with my two youngest. One thing that did make this day extra nice was having breakfast made by kai my 12 year old, with help from his dad. It was a day filled with love and appreciation, even though i still had to complete all the lovely chores, including ensuring the uniform was ironed ready for school. Nothing of this mattered though as i was with my loved ones, weather they was helping me in the garden or they was in their rooms.
I had a lovely day, but the one thing that would make it extra special, is not having a day off from chores, but would be to spend the day with my mum. I’m one of the lucky mums that still has her mummy, who as much as she drives me scatty i love her to the moon and back. I have not spent a mothers day with her i don’t think since i left home and moved away at the age of 18 years. I’m thankful that she is not on her own. My dad, my brothers and sister usually see her right. She may not always feel it, but she is loved dearly, even though she drives us all up the wall.
