Making memories…..
Well we are in the second week of the easter holidays, and its been a busy one so far. The best part and most relaxing being this weekend. Easter……. resulting in chocolate!!!!!!!
I was looking forward to a lovely sunday roast with a glass of wine and a game or movie with the kids. However hubby had other plans… He is a big motorbike fan and had seen an event that just happened to be easter sunday. His excuse being was something like there will be loads of different bikes including the police and ROSPA, we can then continue up the mountains and have a picnic. It sounded like it would be quite a good day, and 2 out of 4 of the kids seemed up for it. I must admit, i was quite looking forward to finding out a bit more out about ROSPA… Which can take a lot of hubby’s time up at times!!! so i was intrigued to find out what it was all about.
Hmmmm… well the day never went as i thought it may go….
The day started at 7am thanks to the Rylee, managed to keep him in our bed until about 8am i think. I went to wake the others to find out Rylee had already woke them up at 7am when he woke up!!! The little sod, after me telling him not to when i put him to bed. Grumpy teenager and pre-teen is not a good start to the day.
The kids had far to many easter eggs, this year they received a lot from family. It saves me buying them chocolate and sweets for a while so I’m more then happy, just have to monitor the eldest who will eat the lot within the week if she could. She takes after me in that department, mummy has a very sweet tooth. I was also very lucky and received 10 eggs!!!! This must be the most I’ve had since i was little and my mum used to always get us to many eggs!!!.
It was not long before we had tears, brother and dad thinking it funny to chuck there eggs to try and crack them!!! Hubby done this since i been with him and omg,,, it drives me up the wall.
We managed to get ready to go out, even with the two youngest on go slow and annoying each other mode… all because they did not want to go out.. The moods changed when we got out the house and got on the road!!!
It was bloody raining and a bloody long drive!!!! so when we finally got to the destination, we had to find a spot to park, as it was full of bikes and only a small area.!!!! Due to the rain i stayed in the car with Keeley, i was not getting wet, just to look at bloody bikes and find out some info on hubby other love of his life!!!! All three boys got out, even though the two youngest never wanted to go in the first place… Kids!!!!!!!!! After 30 mins or so they came back very wet!!!
It was still raining and we had another drive to reach the mountains for food and i was starving along with the kids. We finally reached the destination and managed to eat!!!! Happy kids again… we all stayed in the T4 while Roger went and got wet and took boring photos of things that we have seen and can see again when its sunny!!!
On the way home, Roger decided to get us lost!!!! Bloody men… why do they have to ask the kids????? Do we go left or Right????? We ended up some hell of a distance from home!!!! driving on narrow county lanes, having to reverse to allow other cars to pass and having near misses as young drivers are cutting corners!!! I don’t mind going for a drive and having a picnic, but today i hated every moment!!!
After sometime we arrived home, surprisingly the kids never helped to unpack the picnic bits… they all disappeared to their gaming devices, apart from Keeley who carried on her drawing.
I love going out and making memories, however spending 3 or more hours in the t4 due to the weather, would be a memory i would have been willing to pass on. But a positive to this would be spending mum and daughter time with my not so mini me, while the boys and there dad was talking bike!!!!
#typicalweather. #easter. #motorbikes. #makingmemories
