This week has been crazy busy!!

This half term has been pretty busy but relaxing in the same way. The best part being that my 3 boys actually pulled away from their computers and went out side, it was bloody cold so rather them then me but they went out!!!

My little lot have been on half term this week, and surprisingly they have all got on pretty well. ??
I don’t think I have really had to moan or shout at them once, well apart from telling the eldest to sort the bomb she calls her bedroom. This is a daily occurrence that is repeated several times a day, I hold hope and dream that one day she will be able to keep her room tidy for longer then a few hours at any one time.

It’s been quite a busy week really for all of us with different appointments, school project and the normal daily activities like me tidying up after the kids and hubby, the daily chores and doing several loads of washing from a never ending washing basket.

The week did not start off as I expected, I got my lay in which was lush ? but the downside was my hair dresser was ill so was unable to come sort my roots out and the rest of my hair. Bless her, she rearranged to come the middle of the week. The wait was well worth it, the kids love her and so do I? she is the best hair dresser yet and is so supportive of rogers illness.

Tuesday my big boy got his braces and oh my he was brilliant, even with me prolonging the appointment by about 30 minutes as I wanted to talk to the consultant. Sorry Cameron but it’s a mums job to do these things and make you sit in that chair and curse me as you was probs getting board and hoping I would shut up. Proper made up though as when we left the hospital, I asked Cameron who he prefers taking him and he replied with me ??. Later that day hubby had doctors, in one respect this was a waste of time but then on the other hand it was not. He went because his vein/hand is still really painful, and also because one of his chemo nurses suggested he go and see if he could get some Elma cream and something to help calm him down before chemo. The Elma cream I can sort of understand as he was still in a lot of pain with his hand, the doctor confirmed though that it was a vein and not a ligament like the nurse had said last week. So he got some pain killers for that and his cream, I just hope it works but I’m not holding my breath. I mean it was the saline that caused the pain and not cannula after all. As for giving him something to calm him down before treatment she refused as she could not step on the professors toes so to say. Funny that as one of the reasons that hubby has gone to the doctor is because the professor has refused to prescribe anything.!!!!!!! Personally I don’t think he needs to take anything to calm him down, he is as brave as he can be in my eyes. The chemo is starting to destroy his veins and it’s starting to get painful, but it is becoming more and more apparent that you are not a human in the medical system you are a number! Cancer and chemo still suck!!!!!!!!

YAY!!!! Mid week was great, I stopped looking like an old women!!! My hair dresser came, she also sorted the boys and hubbys hair which means they will stop spending so much time in my mirror in a morning… well I can dream….

Thursday I had an appointment with the hygienist, which I dread but I would rather see her then the dentist, that’s next weeks appointment. A down side to having kids and following your husband around in the army is not being able to have regular check ups causing your teeth to become bad!! We also decided that we would spring a surprise on the kids and go away for the night!!! The reaction we got was just as expected… We had already planned to go out on the Friday, but decided to go the night before so it would not be so much of a long day for Roger and the kids. Shock horror when it came to the packing… they all just got on more or less and done it. I had to tell Kai a few times and it would seem as far as Keeley was concerned we was going for more then one night the amount she had in her bag. But they done it and we got out the house when we said!!! They was even well behaved during the journey to the hotel… these things never happen……. To top it off they had a late night but even behaved in the hotel!!!!

Besides Rylee moaning while walking around the camping show on the Friday the kids behaviour while we was away was amazing. The journey was long on the way home but it was a nice drive, the kids played on their phones/iPads and fell asleep. Yes I fell asleep as well, but that’s going to happen when you sleep next to someone that fell asleep before you and was snoring.

The good mood from having a great week was soon knocked though!!!! In fact it turned to anger and pure disgust!!!! As hubby should be having another attempt at chemo next week he has to have another blood test, so was expecting a call or text to inform him of the time the nurse was coming on Monday. Well hubby got his call from the nurse however it was his follow up call to see if he was having any side effects from the chemo that he never had last week!!!!! ? it would seem that something had not been noted or lack of communication.. when Roger was telling me I was shocked, this should not have happened and could have an impact for next week. Luckily it has not and he got a text on the Saturday morning to say someone will be with him on Monday morning like originally planned with another nurse. Things like this should not be happening, it took me a few hours to calm down and yet roger just takes note and moves on. Going through this c**p is hard enough, trying to deal with your nerves and anxiety and understanding there is that strong chance it’s going to hurt like last time…. So getting your head round that and then having a phone call to see how your doing from a cycle you have not had yet is not on!!!
