Job hunting! 100% MIND DRAINING!

Share Article

I have spent the past few hours looking for jobs and feel like i have achieved nothing.

I have lost count on how many jobs i have applied for and its draining in many ways. Especially when they never get back to you. My CV is going to have a large rest period from when i was in uni last year to eventually finding a damn job.

Before having children and while the children was little i was a care assistant. I loved my job, and it used to fit in with family life even though hubby was in the army it worked. I am someone that has always worked, I’ve worked with kids, in hospital’s and shops. Its driving me insane not being able to find a job.

In the past few years, while studying for my BA (HONS) degree. I was a carer for homeware, it was far from an easy job. I hated the part that it included so much driving and i was on my own so much. I was also not getting home until after 10pm and that was after doing a split shift. I managed one shift in a care home and never went back. That was one of the worst homes I’ve ever worked in. I was left on my own to give personal care to a service user, on top of when the fire alarm went of, the member of staff that i was meant to be shadowing never came to the room i was in to get me.

When i finished my degree, i went straight back in to looking for care jobs. However this did not work out, with the hours being completely different to what they was years ago. This is no good when you have children. On top of which, they are rubbish at getting back to you ref a job.

Things had not gone to plan, i was not having any luck. My mind was going round and i had no idea what i wanted to do. I had applied for hospital jobs, care jobs, jobs with the Alzheimer’s society and support jobs. I had gone for interviews, had a change of heart and worse case never heard back from employee’s.

I was really starting to feel fed up in so many different ways. I want a job, i have a degree but for love nor money i am having no luck.

One thing i can be positive about and that is, i really want to support individuals of domestic abuse. This is something i have always been aware of, but until recently i have never really shown a massive over all interest. For sometime i have been following someone on social media who helps to support individuals of abuse. I have watched programmes and read books, along with talking to people. All of this has given me the determination to work and support individuals. However i have no idea how, i have contacted two local women aid but am still awaiting to hear from them. It is going to take some time, but i really want to get there.

So for the time being its all about my blog and selling my new cups.  Along with making the most of the last few days of summer.
