Feeling fed up

Share Article

Apart from completing forms i can not think of anything worse then job hunting. I have been trying to find a job on and off since last summer.
It feels like a life time ago that i worked, and there is only so much house work one can do before you feel like your cracking up. I mean at the end of the day, i did not put myself through 3 years of stress and miss a lot of my children growing up to graduate with a degree to stay home and clean the house.
Granted when i finished my degree, i spent the summer being a mum and wife. When the children started back at school, the journey started. I may not have gone full on with it as one of my sons started secondary school and struggles with anxiety. I wanted to make sure i was around for him along with my other children, who faced emotions that they needed to work through. Christmas was soon with us, so i decided to forget the job hunting as i was just hitting a brick wall. While studying I had not enjoyed christmas as much i usually did. So this year in particular i went all out to make it a good one for the kids. It was enjoyed by all 🙂 So when the kids went back to school after christmas i through myself full force…. well we are in the month of july and I’m still no closer to getting a job. I have had several knock backs, even from a job that i had an interview for but for medical reasons i could not attend. They was not willing to give me a different time, so i replied when the job was advertised again and i was not offered an interview 🙁 i have been offered an interview but my personal circumstances changed so was unable to attend. On one occasion i was 5 minutes for leaving for an interview when i had a call from one of the schools, i had to go pick my daughter up. Bloody typical, hubby was working away so had no choice.. on returning home i had another call to go get my eldest son. I had contacted the employer but they never got back to me.
So last week i had yet another knock back, well i sat and felt really fed up, how many knock backs can one person get. I have had heated conversations with hubby over this. He believes i’m more then capable of finding a job to do with a subject that i studied in uni, however due to lack of or no experience i am thinking other wise.
So after a long hard think, i have come to terms with the fact this job hunting is not going to happen over night and i can’t let it get to me. I have four wonderful children and i need to be around for them. I am going to continue looking for a job and look in to volunteering, but mean while i’m going t focus on my blog/page and try and help mummy and others out in the best way i can. I will also start posting things that i have for sale as well.
Things change and things don’t always go to plan. But thats ok……. we stand proud and move on to the next hurdle.
I did get my degree, I achieved something I never thought I would. We can do what we want when we put our heart and mind in to it. I was always brought up that things happen for a reason!
