Football presentation evening for the youngest.

Oh the joys!!!

It’s the time of year again when i watch my boys smile and glow as they are presented with a trophy for their commitment and ending their season in football. Such a proud moment!!!!!

Last night was the youngest football presentation, two long hours of sitting in a room with 50 plus screaming children. Oh the joys…

4 children eldest being 16 yrs, myself and hubby arrived at the presentation and made way to the back of the room, out the way of everyone and all the screaming kids. When the room is full you can not move with out bumping in to someone. Hubby and Kai went to the bar and got some drinks. It was not long before hubby got pulled into helping set things up. The downside of being on the football committee. This comes as no shock as it happens everytime. Im then left for more or less the rest of the evening on my own with the kids. Putting up with their faces, that tell you how fed up they are and want to go home. This year was not to bad as the boys have reached an age that they can take their youngest brother outside to the park. Keeley sits in the corner drawing, but does go out and check on the boys after 20 minutes or so and will call them in for food. This then leaves me to guard the table and chairs as other families turn up and will just take your chair etc. Oh i love these events, nothing comes close to being stuck in a hot stuffy crowded room, and not being able to hear yourself think., while trying to keep 4 children happy while hubby is at the front of the room doing whatever it is he does.

As these events happen in the evening there is food, a help yourself buffet. There is always loads left over, as parents take so much. However when it comes to getting the food you need luck on your side. My children are polite, and will not push in unlike many others. So by the time the kids get to the table, the sandwiches have dried out, a lot of the food has gone, some food has been fingered and it looks far from appetising. Frustrating when you see plate amongst plate piled high with food. We always eat brunch/dinner before these events but its obvious that many people don’t. So my lot come back to the table with plates that are not piled high and clear them. Unlike the plates that had been put on the floor for some kids along with their drinks. After a few minutes the glasses had been knocked over and the plates had been barely touched.

After the food had been eaten, the presentation starts. The part you have been waiting for for the past hour or so. Rylee’s team was up last as they was the eldest. Watching my proud boy receive his trophy is heart melting. The smile on his face is from one side of his face to the other. Trying to take photos is bloody hard though. I have Roger trying to talk to me, and then moaning as i could not hear what he was saying. You then have parents that stand in front of you just as you take the photo. Then the worst part then being that all the kids are looking in different directions.

None of this matters though, the screaming kids, the dads talking so loud behind you that you can’t hear the coaches talk at the front. As soon as you see that smile, everything else is drowned out.

Make the most of those special moments, or any moment with your children. Life is short live it to the max.⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️???
