This week I have been doing my blog a year and I cant believe how much has changed within that year!
One of the jobs on my never ending to do list that grows daily, was to update my personal details or bio on my social media platforms and website, since my blog has been going a year this week this was an overdue task. So this morning after a kick up the ass, as I left my motivation behind while on my run. I sat down and updated my “My story” for my social media accounts and OMG!!!!! How my life and focus on life has changed within a year thanks to cancer!!!!
My blog has and always will be from my heart and with the aim of helping others that are facing challenges the same or similar to myself. I started this blog because I was going crazy being stuck at home with the kids and keep being rejected for jobs that I was more then capable of doing. I was hoping to be able to connect with other mums or even dads that happened to be in the same or similar situation as me.
At the start of the blog!
When I started this blog I was a stay at home mum doing all mum things while looking for a job, which is easier said then done when hubby works away. Within so many weeks of starting this page I stopped looking for a job as I had been handed one on a plate, except it was not the job I was after. My husband had been diagnosed with bowel cancer, and I had become his carer as well as a part time single parent, which at the time I was unaware about.L
A year on!
I’m still a stay at home mum doing all things mummy however I have a job that I never dreamed that I would have and my blog is growing daily, I’m helping to raise awareness for bowel cancer and other cancers and I have even done a short video clip for international women’s day https://youtu.be/LOoE_d_KMh4thanks to bowel cancer UK, along with shared my story with a magazine and bowel cancer UK website along with other amazing things.
This year has been a roller coaster journey, we have had so many ups and downs resulting in becoming so much stronger as an individual and closer as a family.
Its made me look at life in a different way, after all you have no idea what’s around the corner. You only get one chance at this thing called life so make each day count and reach to the stars, follow your dreams and take each day as it comes along with the good and bad. Challenges make you who you are as a person and so much stronger then you will ever believe possible.
Cancer sucks and it’s sad that because of cancer I look at life in a different way!! Its made me stronger, its made me realise that if I want something then I am the one that needs to reach out and grab it. I spent 3 years doing a degree and wanted nothing but to put that degree to use and without realising I am!!!! My dream is to help and support others and it would be a dream come true if I was able to continue doing this and maybe one day be earning an income from it.
