I’m so glad these evenings only come around once a year.
The evening was not as bad as last week, noise wise. However it was still a long evening. It was worth seeing my big boy receive his trophy though.
Like last week myself, hubby and kids turned up around 30 minutes early to ensure we got a seat, but there was no fear of that unlike the presentation the week before.
Like all presentations your always there sometime before the opening words/evening really starts at 7pm. In this time people turn up with the food get a drink and find a seat.
We always head to the back of the room, with the feelings being we are out of the way. Last week this did not work well, however this time in a way it did work out better. Even though the under 16’s decided to take seat at the side of us.
In all fairness to them, they were much more respectful to a point then the parents and kids from the presentation evening last week.
Over all the evening was more enjoyable, but at the end of it the only thing that matters and what beats the noise and lack of respect is seeing my boy’s face on hearing his name being called and the look when he is handed his trophy.
The handing out of the trophy was split up in to two parts, so me hoping to make an escape after Cameron had his trophy went out the window.
🙁I was there until the end. This then resulted in my youngest child having another late night, which never resulted in a lay in. He saved them for during the week when he had to get up for school. (Little monkey)!!!
Another bonus for this night was the food was nicer and had not been touched before hand by loads of little fingers. All my children got food this time unlike previous events.
I always moan about these evening as they are boring as hell…. but these feelings always disappear when my heart melts for my boy when their names are called up!!!!! Their faces get me all the time, the boring dragged out evening and board kids all seem worth it in the end.
It is so important to make the most of your children while they are young, as in a blink of an eye they are grown up.
